About Guildford, Surrey
Guildford is a lively town with a diverse history, set in the rolling hills of the Surrey countryside and dissected by the River Wey. Guildford was an important staging post for people travelling between London and Portsmouth.
Guildford is the county town of Surrey and, whilst having a modern shopping district, it retains a traditional cobbled high street and riverside walks. There is much history to explore including the 15th-century Guildhall and the castle keep.
